Santo Domingo – Los Leones del Escogido paid a well-deserved tribute to the field maintenance staff of the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium this Tuesday, before their game against the Gigantes del Cibao.

Recognition to the Diamond Heroes

The act highlighted the dedication and hard work of this group, essential to keep the field in optimal conditions. Since the arrival of Vitelio Mejía to the presidency of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) in 2017, the work of the maintenance staff has been fundamental. During the regular season, the team proved its worth by conditioning the field on multiple occasions, overcoming the challenges presented by storm Melissa. A notable example was the game between the Leones del Escogido and the Estrellas Orientales, last October 20th, which was able to be held thanks to their effort.

The maintenance staff is crucial to the baseball spectacle.
