Chosen Honors the Heroes of the Field in Quisqueya
Santo Domingo – In a gesture of recognition for the silent but fundamental work, the Leones del Escogido paid tribute to the groundskeeping staff of the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium, before the game against the Gigantes del Cibao. This Tuesday, the management of the scarlet team wanted to highlight the commitment and daily effort of these workers, who are responsible for maintaining the playing field and stadium areas in optimal conditions. The act highlighted the importance of his work, especially since Vitelio Mejía assumed the presidency of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) in 2017. During the regular season, the schedule underwent adjustments due to the effects of storm Melissa. However, the maintenance team worked hard to condition the field, allowing the celebration of matches. An example was the match between the Leones del Escogido and the Estrellas Orientales on October 20, which was able to start at 10:18 at night thanks to their dedication.
Jeudy Paula Capellán, in charge of field maintenance, threw the first pitch, accompanied by his colleagues Oscar Gutiérrez, Concepción Rosario, Joscar Pineda, Juan Paulino, Marino Parra, Francisco Núñez, Edwin Lara, Jonathan Vera, Daniel Feliciano, José Hernández and Yon Rosario.
