Jazz Chisholm Jr. near history with the Yankees

The New York Yankees outfielder, Jazz Chisholm Jr., continues to dazzle with his power and speed, keeping fans’ hopes alive. The Bahamian player hit his 29th home run of the season, approaching the 30-30 mark (30 home runs and 30 stolen bases), in the 5-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. With three RBIs, Chisholm is on track to be the third player in franchise history to achieve a 30-30 season, joining Bobby Bonds (1975) and Alfonso Soriano (2002 and 2003), a feat that highlights the player’s exceptional campaign.

It would mean a lot if we managed to win the division and I feel like I helped the team achieve that goal.

Chisholm’s offensive contribution was crucial, driving in runs in the first and third innings, and culminating in a home run in the fifth inning against starting pitcher Brayan Bello. With this victory, the Yankees (83-65) secured the series at Fenway and remain firm in the fight for the American League East Division, just three games behind the Toronto Blue Jays (86-62). In addition, they consolidated a 2.5-game lead over the Red Sox (81-68) in the race for the first Wild Card spot. In the mound, Max Fried shone in his third start against Boston, keeping the rival offense at bay until a home run by Alex Bregman broke his dominance. Luke Weaver’s relief secured the victory, stifling the home threat. The victory not only strengthens the Yankees’ position in the postseason, but also brings Chisholm closer to a milestone not seen in the Bronx for over twenty years.
