Caribbean Series Semifinals: Epic Battles in Guadalajara

Guadalajara, Mexico – The Pan American Baseball Stadium is preparing to vibrate with the semifinals of the Caribbean Series, promising two high-tension matches that will define the finalists of the tournament.

The first matchup, scheduled for 3:00 PM (Eastern Time), will be a rematch between the Tomateros de Culiacán (Green Mexico) and the Leones del Escogido (Dominican Republic). This duel comes after an exciting game in the group stage, where the Tomateros staged a spectacular comeback, driven by a home run from Estevan Florial, to win 10-7.

We know we hadn’t played at our level, especially offensively. That game showed what we are capable of.

Lorenzo Bundy, Tomateros manager
For this crucial encounter, the Tomateros manager, Lorenzo Bundy, will rely on right-hander David Reyes, who will seek to repeat his good performance in the tournament. For his part, Ramón Santiago, manager of the Leones, will send Oscar de la Cruz to the mound.

Second Ticket to the Final: Charros vs. Cangrejeros

The second semifinal will pit the Cangrejeros de Santurce (Puerto Rico) against the Charros de Jalisco (Red Mexico), the host team. In their only previous encounter, Jalisco defeated Santurce with a solid performance by Luis Fernando Miranda. Benji Gil, manager of the Charros, has designated the left-hander Manuel Bañuelos as their starting pitcher. Despite their low collective average in the round robin, Jalisco has the hot bat of Michael Wielansky, who has been key in the team’s performance. Santurce manager Omar López has not yet announced his starting pitcher.
