SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – The Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC) confirmed the teams that will compete in the Caribbean Series Jalisco 2026, after the coronation of the Leones del Escogido in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM). The Caribbean event, which will begin next Sunday at the Pan American Stadium of the Charros in Zapopan, Jalisco, will bring together the Leones del Escogido (Dominican Republic), Charros de Jalisco and Tomateros de Culiacán (Mexico), Cangrejeros de Santurce (Puerto Rico) and the Federales de Chiriquí (Panama) as the invited team.

Dominicana Secures Its Place

The Leones del Escogido earned their ticket to Jalisco by winning their eighteenth national title, defeating the Toros del Este 1-0 in the fifth game of the Final Series, held at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium. The only run of the game came in the first inning, thanks to consecutive singles by Héctor Rodríguez and Erick González, along with productive groundouts by Sócrates Brito and Junior Lake. The victory was secured by the performance of the pitching staff, led by Jefry Yan, who earned the win, and Matt Foster, with the save. Alcides Escobar was named Most Valuable Player of the Final Series, with a .333 average, five RBIs, a home run, an OPS of .833 and outstanding defense at third base.

Mexico Presents its Teams

The ARCO Mexican Pacific League will be represented by Mexico Rojo (Charros de Jalisco) and Mexico Verde (Tomateros de Culiacán), whose official rosters have already been announced. Charros will have players from various organizations, while Tomateros will have a balanced team with international experience. Both teams have many players with previous participations in the Caribbean Series, which reinforces their expectations in the tournament.

Puerto Rico Seeks Its 17th Title

The Cangrejeros de Santurce, champions of the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League (LBPRC), are preparing from the Roberto Clemente Walker Stadium in Carolina, with nine reinforcements and the goal of winning the 17th Caribbean title for Puerto Rico, which would be the first since 2018. The Puerto Rican team will debut on Sunday against Mexico Verde at 1:00 PM.

Panama Returns to the Caribbean Classic

The Federales de Chiriquí will participate for the fourth time in the Caribbean Series, led by José Mayorga and with a team made up of Panamanian players. The team will rest on the opening day and will debut on February 2 against Charros de Jalisco.
