Caribbean Queens Debut: They will face Turkey in the 2026 Nations League

Brasilia, Brazil – The “Queens of the Caribbean”, the Dominican Republic women’s volleyball team, are preparing for their debut in the 2026 Volleyball Nations League. The tournament, organized by the International Volleyball Federation, will begin on June 3.

Match Schedule

The first match for the Dominican Republic will be against the Turkish volleyball team, on June 3rd at 12:00 noon. This match will mark the beginning of Group 2. On June 4th, the “Queens of the Caribbean” will face the Brazilian volleyball team, in a match scheduled for 8:00 PM. On June 5th, the Dominican team will play against the Bulgarian volleyball team at 3:30 PM. After this meeting, the team will have a day off on June 6. The first phase will culminate on June 7th with a match against the Netherlands volleyball team at 10:00 AM.

Statements from Executives

Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz, president of the National Teams Project, and Milagros Cabral, general director of the program, have confirmed the information. The Dominican team, currently ranked 11th in the world, will face high-level teams in this first phase.

Team Preparation

Meanwhile, part of the team is in the final stage of the international professional leagues, and another group continues its preparation in the country. The second week of competition for the Dominican Republic will begin on June 17 in the Philippines, where they will debut against the United States volleyball team.
