The second commitment of the Pan American and Central American and Caribbean champions will be on Monday at eight o’clock at night, facing Venezuela.
The 2025 Women’s Pan American Cup is crucial, as it is part of the qualification process for important future events, including the 2026 Women’s Pan American Cup, the 2026 NORCECA Women’s Continental Championship, the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, and the 2027 Pan American Games. In addition, the tournament awards valuable points for the FIVB World Ranking.
The Queens of the Caribbean are supported by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and GBC Pharmacies.
The preliminary phase will take place from this Sunday until August 7. The quarterfinals and the 7–10 classification matches are scheduled for August 8.
The semi-finals and the matches for positions 7-8 and 9-10 will be played on August 9, while the medal matches and the 5-6 classification will close the competition on August 10.
For South American teams, the CSV (South American Volleyball Confederation) may use the FIVB/CSV points obtained in Colima to determine the classification for future events.
A total of eleven teams will compete, divided into two groups:
- Group A: Canada, Colombia, Cuba, United States, Venezuela
- Group B: Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Peru, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico (host)
Once the group stage is over, the first places of each group will advance directly to the semifinals.
The second and third-placed teams will face each other in the quarterfinals. The teams finishing in fourth and fifth place will compete for positions 7–10, while the sixth-place team from Group B will end their participation.
The United States is the team with the most successes in this tournament, accumulating seven gold medals since its inception in 2002. It is followed by the Dominican Republic with five titles, Cuba with four, and Brazil with three. The current champion is Argentina, which won gold in 2023 and 2024, but will not defend its title this year.
