La Romana – Los Cañeros del Este have announced a significant move in their roster, acquiring talented shooting guard Brandone Francis in a trade with the Metros de Santiago. In this transaction, Raimer Santana joins the Cibao franchise, marking a milestone in the team’s preparation for the 2026 season of the National Basketball League (LNB).

Brandone Francis: Quality Reinforcement for the Cañeros

Brandone Francis, originally from La Romana and 31 years old, is a 6’5” shooting guard who currently competes in the Indonesian Professional Basketball League. There, he has shone with the Prawira Harum club, earning the affection of the fans thanks to his consistent offensive performance. Known for being a natural scorer, Francis possesses a complete offensive repertoire. He is capable of scoring from the perimeter, in the mid-range, and attacking the basket effectively, thanks to his physical strength and versatility on the court.

With the latter team, he reached the final of the national championship in the 2019 season, leading his team in scoring in the decisive match. Subsequently, he played in the NBA G-League with the Iowa Wolves, which opened the doors to European basketball, where he participated in the LEB Oro of Spain with Gipuzkoa Basketball. In the LNB, defending the colors of the Metros de Santiago, Francis has participated in all seasons since his selection, recording career double-digit scoring averages and obtaining important recognitions, such as the Sixth Man of the Year award in 2021.
