Santo Domingo – Alexander Canario, outfielder for the Leones del Escogido, and Aaron Brooks, pitcher for the Toros del Este, have been recognized as the Most Valuable Players of the Week in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM). The evaluated period corresponds to December 8-15, in the 2025-2026 championship, dedicated to don Juan Marichal and in option to the Banreservas Cup. This is the second consecutive time and the third time this season that players from both franchises share the weekly top honors, highlighting the outstanding performance of Lions and Bulls in the tournament.

Alexander Canario: Leader in the Garden

Canario won the award after receiving 49 of 83 votes (58.3%), surpassing Raimel Tapia, of the Estrellas Orientales, and Héctor Rodríguez. During the week, the outfielder participated in four games, hitting three home runs, driving in seven runs and stealing three bases, with an outstanding offensive line of .385/.429/1.077/1.506.

Aaron Brooks: Mastery on the Mound

Regarding the pitchers, Aaron Brooks prevailed in a close vote against César Valdez, with 33 votes to 30. The Toros’ right-hander pitched 6.1 scoreless innings, establishing himself as a key piece of the Romanense pitching during the week. With this distinction, Brooks adds the 18th award for the Toros del Este since the 2022-2023 season, which reaffirms the team’s consistent presence in LIDOM’s weekly awards.
