Camp Nou: Capacity Increases After Receiving Key Permission

Barcelona.- Spotify Camp Nou, amidst its remodeling process, has obtained the first occupancy license. This important step will allow the stadium to receive up to 62,000 fans at matches. The Barcelona City Council granted the permit, which corresponds to phase 1c of the FC Barcelona stadium modernization project, located in Les Corts. With this authorization, the provisional capacity of the stadium will increase significantly, adding approximately 17,000 seats to its current capacity of 45,000 spectators. The license covers the opening of the two amphitheaters located in the north goal sector of the enclosure. It is added to the permits already granted for phases 1a and 1b, which included the areas of the grandstand, side and south goal in the first stands. This expansion will allow the league match next Sunday against Sevilla FC to be played with a greater public attendance, coinciding with the elections for the presidency of the Catalan club.

The acting president of the club, Rafael Yuste, described the authorization as great news for the institution, highlighting that it will allow them to have tens of thousands of fans supporting the team in the stadium.

In addition, the club plans to offer nearly 14,000 new season tickets for members in the north goal area, and around 1,200 seats in the south goal sector, intended for the supporters’ animation space.
