Junior Caminero to the 2025 All-Star Game: A New Bright Star in the Baseball Firmament

DETROIT – The young and promising Dominican third baseman Junior Caminero, of the Tampa Bay Rays, has been selected to participate in the 2025 All-Star Game. MLB announced this Tuesday the incorporation of Caminero, who replaces Alex Bregman of the Boston Red Sox, due to an injury. At 21 years old, Caminero joins his teammates Jonathan Aranda (first base) and Brandon Lowe (second base), thus forming the trio of Rays infielders who will be present at the prestigious event to be held in Atlanta. Caminero’s outstanding performance this season, with an offensive line of .252/.294/.496, has earned him this call-up. His numbers include 21 home runs, 19 doubles, and 57 RBIs in his first 86 games, demonstrating his immediate impact on the team. If Caminero hits a double before the break, he will become the first player in Rays history to reach 20 doubles and 20 home runs before the All-Star Game, a feat that underscores his exceptional performance.

It’s something I’ve been working on with the team and, hopefully, I’ll get the chance, because it would be a great experience for me.

Caminero, who has already left his mark on baseball with memorable moments, such as the 454-foot home run he hit in Game 7 of the Dominican League final, joins the list of 10 Dominicans confirmed for the 2025 All-Star Game.
