Breaking News! Nacional U12 moves: La Farándula ready for the battle for the crown

Santo Domingo.- The U12 National Championship “Robinson Canó Cup”, organized by Fedom, returns to the La Farándula League, located in the Heroes Center of the Dominican capital.

The competition, which will run from Thursday, May 8 to Sunday, May 11, will feature eight teams competing for the title. This year, the event is dedicated to Vitelio Mejía Ortiz, president of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (Lidom).

In 2023, the host club opened its doors to the U12 National and Fedom. In that edition, the Sánchez Ramírez Province was crowned champion. For this 2025, the Liga de la Farándula will host the teams from the Santo Domingo Province, San Pedro de Macorís, Valverde, Barahona, Santiago, La Romana, Duarte and San Cristóbal.

The change of venue is made because it is a central and easily accessible place for the teams and fans.

The president of Fedom, Juan Núñez Nepomuceno, announced the change of venue, highlighting its central location and easy access for the teams and fans who will attend to enjoy the tournament, which brings together the best talents in the country in this category.

In addition, he thanked Banreservas for making its facilities available to the young Dominican baseball players for the celebration of the “Robinson Canó Cup”.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 8th at 4:00 PM.

The matches will begin daily at 10:00 am and will be broadcast on the federation’s YouTube channel, “FedoobeLive”. The last match of the day, at 4:00 pm, will be broadcast on VTV Channel 32 of the Panorama Group.

The clashes on Thursday will be:

  • San Cristóbal vs. La Romana
  • Duarte vs. Santiago
  • Valverde vs. Barahona
  • Provincia Santo Domingo vs. San Pedro de Macorís

For this 2025 edition, the sixth U12 “Robinson Canó” National Championship is supported by Banreservas, Miderec, Grupo Panorama, VTV Channel 32, OMSA and the Dominican State Economic Dining Halls.
