Dominican Republic Prepares for the Bike Kite Fest 2026
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic is getting ready to host an unprecedented event: the Bike Kite Fest 2026. This innovative proposal merges sports, music, and culture, promising a unique experience for attendees.
The event, organized by Cibao Atlántico in collaboration with Uveros Village, will take place from May 30 to June 7 at Playa Buen Hombre. This Caribbean destination is recognized for being a privileged place for water sports.
The festival’s main objective is to position Playa Buen Hombre as one of the best places in the world for kitesurfing. To achieve this, it will bring together elite athletes, national artists, and thousands of visitors.
The festival’s opening will include a demanding 100-kilometer cycling competition, which will end on the coast of Buen Hombre. Then, it will give way to the expected international kitesurfing competition in Big Air mode.
The kitesurfing competition will feature official judges from the Global Kitesports Association, ensuring world-class evaluation standards.
The competitive level will be rewarded with an attractive prize pool. The male and female winners will receive 7,000 dollars, while the junior category will get 3,500 dollars.
Among the prominent participants are international figures such as Victoria Bragnot, Lorenzo Casati, Leonardo Casati and Mikaili Sol, along with local talents such as Josué Suan, Joselito del Rosario, Luis Cruz and Miguel Ángel.
The Bike Kite Fest 2026 is projected as a large-scale multidisciplinary festival. A second stage, located on the beach, will accompany the sports competitions in real time.
The event infrastructure is designed to accommodate thousands of attendees, with more than 2,000 camping spaces that will offer a complete experience, including three daily meals and a wide range of local products and gastronomy.
The festival also seeks community integration, with traditional activities such as a domino competition with a prize of one million pesos, volleyball and softball tournaments, as well as kite contests, strengthening the connection between the event and the cultural identity of the region.
The Bike Kite Fest 2026 is shaping up to be a celebration of sport and music, as well as a strategic platform for the tourism and economic development of the northern zone of the country.
