BHD Bank Sponsors the Dominican Team in the 2026 World Baseball Classic

Banco BHD is established as the official sponsor of the Dominican team for the 2026 World Baseball Classic. Within the framework of this sponsorship, the financial entity has launched the campaign “Our Classic”, an initiative that seeks to promote national pride and unconditional support for the Dominican team in this prestigious sporting event, which will take place in March 2026. This campaign is an extension of the solid alliance that Banco BHD has maintained for more than two decades with Major League Baseball (MLB), reaffirming its commitment to the king sport of the Dominican Republic.

Baseball is a tool for change that contributes to the social development of our country, which is why we support this sport through different actions such as a financial and non-financial value proposition for the prospects of the MLB academies in our country. In addition to this, we have the sponsorship of the Dominican team in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

The campaign’s communication proposal includes various audiovisual pieces that connect baseball with identity, a sense of belonging, and national pride. These pieces highlight how baseball unites generations, connects all Dominicans, and transcends borders, manifesting collective identity. The “Clásico de Nosotros” campaign starts from the idea that there are customs, attitudes, and daily behaviors that are part of the Dominican cultural DNA, and baseball is one of its greatest symbols. The World Baseball Classic becomes the stage where those typically Dominican expressions are transferred from day to day to the playing field. As part of the sponsorship, Banco BHD will offer 200 of its clients the opportunity to experience live the games of the Dominican team at LoanDepot Park in Miami.

A Major League Trajectory

The Banco BHD’s relationship with Major League Baseball (MLB) began in 2005. The financial institution gave a series of talks on financial education aimed at MLB prospects from the academies installed in the country. This training was strengthened over time, and currently includes a training plan that involves parents, coaches, and those close to the signed young people. In the two decades of alliance between BHD and MLB, more than 8,600 prospects have been impacted. In 2008, this initiative was expanded and formalized with the signing of the first agreement between both entities, establishing Banco BHD as the Official Bank of Major Leagues in the Dominican Republic. This agreement includes a business component that grants BHD the exclusivity of the MLB brand and the possibility of offering unique experiences to its clients, such as the MLB BHD credit card, which offers a 5% cashback on gyms, sports clothing stores, and sports clubs.
