Bayron Matos, out of the Dolphins’ roster for the 2025 season

The Miami Dolphins have announced news affecting Dominican talent. Offensive tackle Bayron Matos will not be part of the 53-player roster that will compete in the 2025 NFL season.

This decision comes after an injury he suffered during training, preventing him from demonstrating his worth on the field.

Matos, 24 years old and born in Santo Domingo, suffered a head injury on July 25 during a team practice. This incident required his helicopter transport to a medical center.

Fortunately, the next day, Matos regained mobility in his limbs. He was discharged on July 30 and was able to return to the Dolphins’ facilities.

The player remained under concussion protocol, which prevented him from participating in the three preparation matches.

Bayron Matos arrived at the Dolphins on April 28, 2024, as an undrafted free agent, thanks to the NFL’s 2024 International Player Pathway program, designed to identify international talent.

Matos’s NFL future now focuses on his recovery and the possibility of joining Miami’s practice squad for a second consecutive year, with the goal of establishing himself in the league.
