Dominican Republic Shines at the Mexico Future Series Aguascalientes 2025
Aguascalientes – The Dominican badminton team won three bronze medals at the “Mexico Future Series Aguascalientes 2025”, demonstrating a notable performance in the tournament that ended this weekend. The event brought together athletes from 12 countries in America, Europe, and Oceania.
The Dominican team excelled by reaching three semifinals, securing three third places in the women’s doubles and men’s doubles categories.
The female pairs, made up of Nairobys Jiménez and Claritza Pie, along with Daniela Acosta and Alissa Acosta, exhibited solid technique and teamwork, managing to stand out among the best in the championship.
In the men’s division, the duo of Anderson Taveras and Jonathan Linares also advanced to the semifinals, marking a historic performance for the country at this level of competition.
These results allow the national team to add crucial points to the international ranking, getting closer to the possibility of qualifying for more relevant events such as the Pan American Games and tournaments of the Olympic cycle. The team was led by national coaches Wilton Tavares and Maykel Moreno.
Following this outstanding participation, the Dominican selection is preparing for its next challenge in the Guatemala Future Series, which will take place from September 2 to 7 in the city of Guatemala.
The prestigious event, endorsed by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), featured the participation of delegations from Canada, United States, Colombia, Australia, Venezuela, Denmark, Barbados, Spain, Guatemala, Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico, and Dominican Republic.
