National Athletics Championship: Success and Qualification for International Events
Santo Domingo – The Dominican Athletics Federation held the National Championship of Jumps, Throws, Middle Distance, Long Distance and Race Walking this weekend. The event, which took place on the tracks of Bayaguana and La Romana, served as a platform to identify the athletes who will represent the country in important competitions. Athletes with the best marks in this championship will be selected to join the national pre-selections that will participate in the Central American and Caribbean Games.In addition to qualifying for the Central American and Caribbean Games, the outstanding performances in this championship will also serve to define the participants in the National Superior Championship, organized by the Athletics Federation in collaboration with the provincial associations. Regarding the score by province, La Romana stood out by accumulating a total of 177 points, followed by El Seibo with 128 points, San Pedro de Macorís in third place, and Monte Plata in fourth, with 60 points. The event was supported by the Ministry of Sports, the Olympic Committee, Grupo Creso, Adidas, World Athletics, and INEFI.We are focused on the Central American Games where we will bring our best to the track to raise the tricolor flag in the regional event.
