Arozarena gives the Mariners the victory with a timely hit

In an exciting day at T-Mobile Park, Cuban-Mexican Randy Arozarena became the hero of the day by hitting a single to center field in the ninth inning, driving in the run that gave the Seattle Mariners the victory over the Minnesota Twins with a final score of 2-1.

The key play came after Julio Rodriguez led off the ninth inning with a hit against reliever Griffin Jax, followed by a stolen base and an error on the throw by catcher Ryan Jeffers that advanced him to third. Arozarena, with a solid hit to center field, sealed the victory for the Mariners.

I focused on keeping the ball in the middle of the field and making solid contact. Julio did a great job advancing the bases. It was a team effort.

The game was characterized by a pitching duel. Luis Castillo, for Seattle, pitched six scoreless innings. Chris Paddack, the Twins’ starter, had an outstanding performance over eight innings, allowing only one run, with 10 strikeouts and only one walk, from 110 pitches, 75 were in the strike zone.

The Mariners’ first run came in the seventh inning thanks to Cal Raleigh’s 23rd home run of the season, who currently leads Major League Baseball in this category.

The Twins tied the game 1-1 in the top of the ninth, thanks to a sacrifice fly by Harrison Bader against Mexican closer Andrés Muñoz, who ultimately took the victory.

With this victory, Seattle avoided the sweep and closed their series against Minnesota with a positive result, thanks to Castillo’s performance, Raleigh’s power, and Arozarena’s timely hitting.
