Andrés Feliz leads Real Madrid to the EuroLeague final

Dominican point guard Andrés Feliz shined off the bench to lead Real Madrid Basketball to a resounding victory over Valencia Basket, securing their place in the EuroLeague final.

Happy demonstrated his worth by registering 15 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in just 20 minutes of play. His energy and control were fundamental in the second half to consolidate the advantage of the merengue team.

The match was characterized by a frenetic offensive pace and constant changes in the score. Although Valencia Basket showed resistance, Real Madrid managed to impose their game, especially in the second quarter, where they scored 36 points.

The effectiveness from the three-point line and the fast transitions were key for the team led by Sergio Scariolo to go into halftime with a 62-56 lead. This first half was historic, as both teams scored 118 points, the highest amount recorded in a Euroleague Final Four semifinal this century.

At Valencia Basket, Jean Montero also had an outstanding performance in his farewell to the tournament, finishing with 15 points, nine assists and three steals.

In the second half, Facundo Campazzo’s leadership and Andrés Feliz’s contribution were decisive in controlling the pace of the game. Real Madrid dominated the offensive rebounds and widened the difference on the scoreboard.

Despite Valencia’s attempted comeback in the final quarter, Real Madrid, with the experience of its players and the outstanding performance of Mario Hezonja, top scorer of the match with 23 points, managed to maintain its lead.

The negative note for Real Madrid was the injury of Usman Garuba, who had to leave the court, increasing the team’s concerns ahead of the final.

With this victory, Real Madrid will seek a new European title in Athens.
