Santi Aldama Shines with 37 Points, But the Grizzlies Suffer Defeat Against Wizards

Washington, D.C. – On a night filled with contrasting emotions, Santi Aldama, the talented Spanish player, starred in the best offensive performance of his NBA career, but his effort was not enough to prevent the defeat of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies, despite building a 20-point lead, fell to the Washington Wizards with a final score of 130-122.

Aldama, who returned to the bench after starting in the previous three games, surpassed his previous personal best of 29 points. The Canary Islands power forward demonstrated remarkable efficiency by making 15 of 23 field goals (65.2%), including 5 of 9 three-pointers (55.6%).

In addition to his impressive scoring ability, Aldama achieved a double-double by grabbing 10 rebounds. He also contributed with two assists, a steal, and a block, in an individual performance that stood out on the day.

Despite Aldama’s great performance, the Grizzlies (13-15) couldn’t hold on to the lead they built in the second quarter. The Wizards (5-21), despite the victory, remain at the bottom of the overall standings.

Washington reacted with a combination of youth and experience. Guard Kyshawn George led the offense with 28 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while CJ McCollum contributed 28 points, as well as five rebounds and six assists. Frenchman Alex Sarr contributed 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Marvin Bagley III added 16 points, with Bub Carrington adding 14.

For Memphis, in addition to Aldama’s record, Jaren Jackson Jr. finished with 22 points and eight rebounds, and Cam Spencer stood out with 19 points and 11 assists, in a defeat that left a bitter taste after a game that seemed to be on track.
