Los Angeles, California – NBA star player Al Horford expressed his gratitude to President Luis Abinader and the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, for the completion of the multipurpose roof “La Tribu de Quisqueya” in La Romana.

President Luis Abinader, thank you very much for being so attentive to sports development in our country and for promoting the progress of youth. Thank you for that roof you gave us in La Romana, there in the Quisqueya neighborhood; that is something that will be very special for the community and for the development of many young people.

Horford’s recognition came through a video, where he highlighted the importance of this infrastructure for sports development and community well-being. Horford, who was recognized by President Abinader with the Order of Merit of Duarte, Sánchez and Mella in the Knight’s Degree for his outstanding sports career, regretted not having been able to attend the inauguration due to commitments with his team in the NBA.

I really appreciate that gesture of yours. Unfortunately, I couldn’t be there because I had a game here in San Francisco, California, but I am very happy. I saw the photos and videos; I am very pleased with all the work and effort done by the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, for overseeing that project and completing it. Thank you very much for your support.
