Presented the Dominican Professional Basketball Players Association (AJUPROBA)
Santo Domingo.- This Monday afternoon, the official presentation of the Dominican Professional Basketball Players Association (AJUPROBA) took place, an entity that arises with the fundamental purpose of safeguarding the rights and agreements of basketball players in the country. After a period of more than a year of meetings and planning, the association is consolidated as a key entity for the development and well-being of athletes.
The launch of AJUPROBA was backed by prominent figures of Dominican basketball, who expressed their support for the initiative. The association, in addition to detailing its mission, presented the executive committee that will lead it. Rayner Moquete assumes the presidency, accompanied by a group of renowned players who make up the management team.

In his statements, Moquete highlighted the achievements made so far, the result of conversations with representatives of the Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal) and the National Basketball League (LNB). Among the short-term objectives is the signing of an agreement or labor pact between the players and the LNB.
One of the missions of AJUPROBA is not only to demand from Fedombal, teams, associations and LNB, but also to ensure that players are trained and participate in educational talks on finance, etiquette and protocol, media management and the use of social networks, as well as nutrition.

AJUPROBA will also focus on player training, offering educational talks on relevant topics such as finance, protocol, media and social media management, and nutrition.
The association plans to establish a representative in each province to strengthen communication with the different basketball associations in the country. In addition, a meeting with basketball legends is planned to gather suggestions and enrich the entity’s work.
AJUPROBA will extend its reach to women’s basketball, providing a space for players to express their concerns and receive support. Likewise, work is underway to create a website where players can register and access relevant information about tournaments and activities.
Miguel Simón was in charge of presenting the mission and vision of AJUPROBA. José Esteban Borromé, representing Rafael Uribe of Fedombal, and Pedro Chalas, representing Antonio Mir of the LNB, were also present at the event.
Former players such as José -Maíta- Mercedes, Evaristo Pérez, Iván Mieses, Héctor Junior Gil, Eulis Báez, David Zabala and Teresa Durán were present at the event. Young basketball prospects such as Luixander Blanco, Jaison Valdez, Bryan Polanco, Jean Quezada, Luis Manuel López and Sugey Monsac also attended.
