Santo Domingo – The Águilas Cibaeñas have strengthened their roster with the selection of versatile infielder Cristhian Adames in the re-entry draft of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), held this Wednesday, December 24th.
With this choice, the Operations Management of the Eagles, led by René Francisco and Gian Guzmán, adds a player with great ability to perform in multiple positions in the infield.
Adames arrives after an outstanding performance with the Tigres del Licey during the regular season, where he participated in 49 of the 50 games. In those games, he accumulated 169 official at-bats, connecting 52 hits for a .308 average, including 3 home runs and 12 doubles. In addition, he scored 20 runs, drove in 22, and stole 2 bases.
His offensive performance translates to an OBP of .391, a slugging percentage of .432, and an OPS of .823.
Adames, a switch hitter, already knows the Aguilas team, having reinforced the team in the semifinal series of the 2021-2022 season. On that occasion, he played 12 games, batting 11-for-40 for .275, with a home run, a triple, 6 runs scored and one RBI.
