Raynel Delgado Strengthens the Águilas Cibaeñas for the 2025-2026 Season

The Baseball Operations department of the Águilas Cibaeñas announced this Wednesday the incorporation of the talented infielder Raynel Delgado, who was recognized as Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the past season with the Nashville Sounds, Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. This hiring is part of the team reinforcement strategy for the 2025-2026 tournament of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM). Slender, 25 years old and originally from Havana, Cuba, he will bring versatility, speed and offensive power to the Aguilas lineup. He stands out for being an ambidextrous hitter and for his defensive ability in various positions in the infield, especially at second and third base. In his recent Triple-A campaign, Delgado proved his worth with a batting average of .281, connecting 116 hits, driving in 53 runs and stealing 40 bases in 48 attempts, establishing himself as a key player in the circuit.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Raynel to our organization. His MVP title is no coincidence; it reflects his incredible work ethic, discipline at the plate, and ability to be an offensive leader. We hope that his energy and performance will raise the level of the entire team and bring us closer to our goal of conquering a new championship,” expressed Gian Guzmán, general manager of the Águilas Cibaeñas.

Delgado, selected in the 2018 Draft by the Cleveland Indians, arrives at a crucial moment for the team’s structuring ahead of the new season. With this signing, the Águilas Cibaeñas have so far confirmed five imported players: pitchers Devin Smeltzer, Triston McKenzie, Oscar Rayo and Charlie Barnes, along with the newly incorporated Raynel Delgado.
