Santiago. The Águilas Cibaeñas have announced a significant acquisition that strengthens their roster for the upcoming seasons of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM). The team has finalized the arrival of the talented outfielder Jasson Domínguez, along with right-handed pitcher Wilkin Ramos and a ninth-round pick from the 2026 Rookie Draft. This strategic move was made through a trade with the Leones del Escogido, who will receive outfielder Jerar Encarnación.

A Prospect of Renown

Jasson Domínguez, nicknamed “The Martian”, is recognized as one of the most promising prospects in current baseball. Currently, he belongs to the New York Yankees organization. At just 23 years old, Domínguez stands out for his versatility in the field, combining powerful hitting, speed on the bases, and solid defense in the outfield. During spring training with the Yankees, Domínguez has shown his worth by leading the team in RBIs. His batting average is .333, with an OPS of 1.010 and three home runs in 11 games. In the last season of the Dominican league, Domínguez participated in 11 games, connecting seven hits, including three doubles.

Pitching Enhancement

Wilkin Ramos, the right-handed pitcher who also joins the Eagles, belongs to the San Francisco Giants organization. In 2025, Ramos recorded an ERA of 2.64 in the minor leagues and made a good impression in his brief stint with the Escogido, where he pitched four scoreless innings and struck out five batters. The Eagles’ baseball operations management expressed enthusiasm for the arrival of both players, noting that the move seeks to strengthen the team’s young talent and keep the club competitive in the coming seasons. The organization also expressed its gratitude to Jerar Encarnación for his dedication and professionalism during his time with the team, wishing him success in his new stage with the Leones del Escogido.
