Águilas Cibaeñas Strengthen with Corey Joyce for the 2025-2026 Season

The Águilas Cibaeñas, in their constant pursuit of maintaining dominance in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) during the 2025-2026 season, have announced the incorporation of the talented American infielder Corey Joyce. This strategic move aims to primarily strengthen the team for the final stretch of the regular season. The Cibao team, which currently leads the tournament with a solid 23-8 record, continues to make precise adjustments to secure its classification and arrive in optimal conditions for the postseason.

“We are focused on maintaining a highly competitive team. Each piece we add, like Corey, is a firm step in that direction. We are looking for versatility in the infield and players with a hunger to win, and Joyce fits perfectly into our philosophy,” said Gian Guzmán, general manager.

In his last summer season, he played with the Knoxville Smokies, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, where he participated in 92 games and recorded a batting average of .272 (88 hits in 323 at-bats).

In the modern history of NCCU, he holds the institution’s best records in batting average (.348) and slugging (.527).
