SANTIAGO. – Cristhian Adames, a versatile infielder, has confirmed his willingness to join the Águilas Cibaeñas from day one. This, after being selected as a reinforcement in the LIDOM Re-entry Draft, preparing for the start of the Round Robin this Saturday. I am ready to help from day one and contribute where the team needs me. Adames emphasized his commitment and willingness to take on any role during this crucial stage of the tournament. The infielder’s main goal is to strengthen the defense and contribute offensively at key moments. It’s a great opportunity and a challenge that I take on with great responsibility. Experience and focus will be key in this semifinal. The Águilas Cibaeñas, who arrive at the Round Robin with high expectations after leading the regular season, have reinforced their roster. This incorporation comes in the face of the temporary absence of Gerardo Perdomo due to family matters. I have played in all four infield positions throughout my career and I feel comfortable in all of them; wherever they need me, I’ll be there. At 34 years old, Adames will participate in his seventh Round Robin, accumulating experience in 83 games, with a .268 average (254-68), in addition to 38 runs scored, 21 RBIs and three home runs, playing with Toros del Este, Águilas Cibaeñas and Tigres del Licey. Gian Guzmán, Baseball Operations Manager of the Eagles, highlighted that the selection of Adames brings greater depth and versatility to the infield. He emphasized his switch-hitting ability, plate discipline, and offensive consistency. The Eagles started the Re-entry Draft with the selection of Adames, a player belonging to the Tigres del Licey, and made a total of six selections, including five pitchers, with the aim of strengthening their pitching staff for the semifinal phase. The Round Robin begins this Saturday with four teams competing for a spot in the Final Series of the tournament dedicated to Juan Marichal.
