Atlanta, USA – Baseball fans witnessed a historic moment when Venezuelan outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. returned to MLB with a stunning home run.
After almost a year of absence due to an injury, Acuña Jr. showed that his power is still intact, hitting a 467-foot home run in his first at-bat.
A Triumphant Return at Truist Park
Truist Park was the scene of the Braves player’s long-awaited return. Facing pitcher Nick Pivetta of the San Diego Padres, Acuña Jr. hit a tremendous home run to center field.
The hit, driven by a 93.1 mph fastball, shot off the bat at 115.5 mph.
The fans celebrated enthusiastically when the native of La Sabana, La Guaira state (Venezuela), ran the bases.
This home run not only opened the scoring for Atlanta (1-0), but also represented Acuña Jr.’s 35th home run to start a game in his career.
Acuña Jr.’s return comes after overcoming an anterior cruciate ligament rupture suffered in 2024, which kept him off the fields for 363 days.
The confirmation of his re-entry to the roster was announced via the social network X, where the Braves reported his activation in place of infielder Orlando Arcia.
