Abinader Honors MLB Stars: Meeting with Dominican Baseball Figures

Santo Domingo – In a gesture of recognition for the outstanding work and the pride they represent for the Dominican Republic, President Luis Abinader led the traditional meeting with Dominican baseball players from the Major Leagues. The meeting, held in the Green Hall of the National Palace, was an initiative of the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kelvin Cruz.

A Meeting of Honor

The main objective of the meeting was to honor the hard work of Dominican Major League players. With their talent, discipline, and commitment, these athletes have managed to elevate the name of the Dominican Republic in the international baseball arena. During the activity, President Abinader shared closely and effusively with the players. He highlighted their positive impact as ambassadors of the country and role models for Dominican youth.

Present Figures

Among the active Major League players who attended the Christmas gathering were Fernando Tatis Jr., Julio Rodríguez, Abner Uribe, Camilo Doval, Edward Cabrera, Gregory Soto, Ronel Blanco, Brayan Bello, Wandy Peralta, Seranthony Domínguez, Elian Soto and Agustín Ramírez, among others. Also, former baseball players and historical figures of Dominican baseball participated, such as Albert Pujols, a future member of the Cooperstown Hall of Fame and manager of the Dominican squad in the World Baseball Classic; Nelson Cruz, general manager of the tricolor team; Junior Noboa, National Baseball Commissioner; Amaurys Nina, Plácido Polanco and Joel Peralta.

Support for Sports

Minister Cruz valued President Abinader’s continued support for Dominican sports. He highlighted that these types of initiatives strengthen the bond between the State and athletes, serving as an incentive for present and future generations.
