Abadina launches digital platform to boost basketball

The National District Basketball Association (Abadina) presented its new digital platform, a technological tool that seeks to strengthen institutional management and benefit affiliated clubs, players, coaches, technicians, and leaders. The presentation ceremony took place in the James Rodríguez hall of the Ministry of Sports and was led by the president of the entity, Edwin Castillo (Tatico), and the member of the Executive Committee, César Pilarte, who promoted the initiative. The platform, developed with the Odoo 17 system, is a digital ecosystem that centralizes administrative processes, registration of athletes and coaches, technical training, and management in a single technological infrastructure.

Transparency, efficiency and technical legacy

During his intervention, Castillo highlighted that this project is based on three fundamental pillars for the 2025-2028 period: transparency, administrative efficiency, and strengthening of the technical legacy. Among the key components of the system is the Digital Census, considered the central axis of the platform. This will allow the creation of a unique and biographical record of athletes, managers and clubs, eliminating data duplication and guaranteeing greater institutional control. The Virtual Headquarters was also presented, a web portal that will include appointment management, a helpdesk system, and an institutional calendar, tools designed to streamline processes and optimize administrative response capacity. Another development is the Abadina Virtual Academy, which will offer online courses to promote continuous training and sports education in digital format. The platform will also automate accounting processes and online payments, strengthening economic transparency in the management of institutional resources.

“This is not an improvised project, but the materialization of a vision of years. We are not delivering a simple web page, but a modern, transparent and efficient institution for future generations”, expressed Castillo.

A Consolidated Project

César Pilarte explained that the initiative was conceived several years ago and found in the current board the necessary support for its definitive implementation. Pilarte highlighted that Odoo 17 is one of the most advanced technological platforms regionally and has more than 15 million users worldwide. Also present at the activity were Héctor Junior Gil, vice president of Abadina; Raúl Peña (Koby), treasurer; Santos María, press officer; Anthony Fernández, vocal; and as a special guest Fernando Geraldino, Social Responsibility manager of Seaboard “Clean Energy”. With this launch, Abadina reaffirms its commitment to innovation and digital transformation in the management of district basketball.
