Abadina Celebrates Mini Benjamin Gathering with 42 Teams
Santo Domingo, RD. – The Basketball Association of the National District (Abadina) is preparing to celebrate the Mini Benjamin Convivio this weekend, Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th, an event that promises to be a sporting celebration for the youngest. The National Minibasket House, located in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, will be the stage where 42 teams will compete in this exciting day. The event is designed for boys and girls between 8 and 10 years old. The action will begin on Saturday at 9:00 in the morning, with matches that will extend throughout the day. The activities will continue on Sunday at the same venue, which also serves as the headquarters of the Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal).Dedicated to Alberto Rodríguez Mella
The Convivio Mini Benjamín will have a special dedication to the renowned sports chronicler Alberto Rodríguez Mella, current executive director of the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI).Edwin Castillo, president of Abadina, was in charge of announcing the celebration and highlighting Rodríguez’s career in the field of basketball. Castillo also reported that this event is part of Abadina’s calendar of activities for this year, recalling the recent U19 youth tournament, which featured the participation of 28 male and six female teams, dedicated to the Minister of Youth Carlos José Valdez Matos. The main objective of the Convivio Mini Benjamín is to encourage the practice of basketball from an early age, promoting sports integration among the clubs of the National District.Everyone knows Alberto Rodriguez’s commitment to district and national basketball, in all its categories and levels.
