Abadina Celebrates Mini Benjamin Gathering with 42 Teams
Santo Domingo, RD. – The Basketball Association of the National District (Abadina) is preparing to celebrate the Mini Benjamin Convivio this weekend, bringing together 42 teams at the National Minibasket House. The event will take place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, promising two days full of action and young talent. This sporting event is designed for boys and girls between 8 and 10 years old. The action will begin on Saturday at 9:00 in the morning with matches that will extend throughout the day. The activities will continue on Sunday at the same venue, which also houses the Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal). The event will be dedicated to the renowned sports journalist Alberto Rodríguez Mella, current executive director of the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI).Edwin Castillo, president of Abadina, announced the special dedication, highlighting Rodríguez’s important career in the field of basketball. Castillo also explained that this event is part of Abadina’s annual calendar of activities. Last month, the association inaugurated the U19 youth tournament, dedicated to the Minister of Youth Carlos José Valdez Matos, with the participation of 28 male and six female teams. The Convivio Mini Benjamín’s main objective is to encourage the practice of basketball from an early age and promote sports integration among the clubs of the National District.Everyone knows Alberto Rodriguez’s commitment to district and national basketball, in all its categories and levels.
