The Mauricio Báez Club celebrates 63 years of history and social commitment
In an atmosphere of celebration and recognition, the Mauricio Báez Sports Club commemorated its 63rd anniversary with a special breakfast dedicated to its current president, the Dominican sports immortal José “Boyón” Domínguez. The event highlighted the positive impact the institution has had over more than six decades in fostering sports development in the country.
The rector of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), Jorge Asjana David, participated in the meeting, where he highlighted Domínguez’s tireless work in favor of youth and the strengthening of values through athletic discipline.
Sport as a pillar of education
During her speech, Asjana David emphasized that for the state academy, culture and sports should not be seen as secondary activities, but as essential elements for the formation of well-rounded citizens. According to the rector, these disciplines are fundamental to ensuring a society with higher levels of well-being, health, and social commitment.
From the UASD, we reaffirm our commitment to the strengthening of sports and culture as fundamental pillars for the integral formation of our university community and for the construction of a society with higher levels of well-being.
