Trendy Fashion Week: Fashion unites for a noble cause in Santo Domingo
The city of Santo Domingo was the setting for an unprecedented encounter where style and philanthropy converged. Under the direction of Puerto Rican creative Jonathan Medero, the event “Trendy Fashion Week: One Night Only” managed to bring together three of the most prominent exponents of Latin American fashion in an intimate gala, designed not only to showcase talent, but to drive a positive social impact.
Regional talent on the runway
The evening stood out for the diversity of proposals presented by three designers who have left an indelible mark on the industry:
- Giannina Azar (Dominican Republic): The iconic designer presented “Oasis”, a collection inspired by Afro-Caribbean rhythms with a vibrant palette of earth colors and intense tones, in addition to her “Reconocimiento” line, which reaffirmed her mastery in gala design and beadwork.
- José Texeira (Puerto Rico): With his proposal “L’Essence”, the designer explored the elegance of the modern man. Through a classic palette of white, blue, and black, he managed to fuse avant-garde cuts with timeless distinction.
- Douglas Tapia (Venezuela): The creator paid tribute to the Dominican essence, achieving a proposal that exalts femininity with touches of magical realism, achieving a perfect balance between tradition and modernity.
When industry talent meets solidarity, positive impact becomes a tangible reality for those who need it most.

A commitment to social well-being
The event transcended the standards of a conventional runway by allocating all funds raised to two fundamental institutions:
- AIP Breast Prevention & Care: Entity focused on education, prevention, and early diagnosis of breast cancer in vulnerable sectors.
- Fundación Toque de Fe y Ternura: Organization dedicated to providing basic assistance through the delivery of medical and food supplies to low-income families.
With this special edition, “One Night Only” reaffirms that fashion is a tool for transformation, demonstrating that art, when linked to charitable causes, has the power to change lives and strengthen the community fabric.
