Tragedy in Samaná: person dies burned after house fire
A regrettable tragedy shook the municipality of Sánchez, in the province of Samaná, this Sunday, after a fire reduced a residence in the Los Rieles sector to ashes, leaving one person dead.
According to the preliminary report issued by the Provincial Directorate of Civil Defense, the victim was trapped inside the structure while the flames consumed the home. Despite the rapid response of the emergency services, by the time they accessed the site, the person had already lost their life due to the incident.

Civil Defense personnel, in coordination with local authorities and the corresponding security forces, arrived at the scene to carry out verification, assistance, and evidence collection tasks necessary to clarify the facts.
The competent authorities are keeping the case under investigation to determine the exact causes that originated the fire. So far, the identity of the deceased and additional details about the event have not been revealed.
Civil Defense indicated that they continue to monitor the case and pledged to provide official and verified information as investigations progress and concrete data is obtained regarding this unfortunate event that has brought mourning to the community of Sánchez.
