Dominican Republic to host the fourth edition of the 2026 World Police Games
The Dominican Republic is preparing for an event of international significance. The National Police has confirmed that our country will host the fourth edition of the World Police Games, a sporting event that promises to bring together representatives from 31 nations. The meeting, scheduled from October 26 to 30, 2026, will serve as a platform to foster fellowship and highlight the fundamental values that guide law enforcement officers globally.
This event positions the country as an epicenter of police sports, facilitating a space for cultural and professional exchange where discipline and camaraderie will be the protagonists. According to the organizers, the main goal is to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between police forces from different continents through healthy competition.
Seven disciplines will define the competition
The sports calendar has been structured to challenge the physical and technical capabilities of the participants through seven highly demanding disciplines. The variety of the events ensures a dynamic and competitive spectacle:
- 3×3 Basketball: Focused on agility, speed of execution, and tactical teamwork.
- Beach volleyball: A test of endurance and constant communication under the sun.
- Swimming: Demands superior technical preparation and great cardiovascular capacity.
- Golf: Tests the athlete’s strategy, precision, and mental strength.
- 10-kilometer race: A long-distance challenge that rewards discipline and perseverance.
- IPSC practical shooting: Combines speed and accuracy under strict safety protocols.
- Judo: Combat discipline that highlights self-control, respect, and body technique.
The integration of these modalities allows athletes with different specialties to demonstrate their comprehensive preparation, reaffirming that sport is an essential tool for the training of police service agents.
