Temporary closure of the Floating Bridge this Saturday: know the details
The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has announced that vehicular traffic across the Floating Bridge over the Ozama River will be restricted this Saturday. The measure, necessary to ensure safety during maritime maneuvers, will affect circulation during a specific timeframe.
The traffic interruption is scheduled to take place between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. During this two-hour period, the bridge must remain closed to vehicle flow in order to allow the passage of three vessels linked to the Joseph Industrial Development Corp. Shipyard.
Scheduled maritime operations
According to the official information shared by Alofoke Deportes, the maneuvers include the strategic movement of the following vessels:
- Departure of barge IMI 105.
- Arrival of tugboat TUG GREEN NICPYA.
- Arrival of barge HYGRADE 42.
The authorities have specified that the execution of these maneuvers will be subject to the prevailing weather and navigation conditions at the time, which are determining factors to ensure the integrity of the structure and the vessels.
Likewise, the MOPC warned that, in the event of adverse weather conditions or situations that prevent safe navigation, the opening of the bridge could be suspended or rescheduled for a later date. Drivers who use this route are advised to take the necessary precautions and consider alternative routes during the established closing time.
