TBS District 2026 postseason kicks off: Everything ready for the semifinals
The excitement of district basketball reaches its peak this Friday with the start of the semifinal series A and B of the 50th Superior Basketball Tournament of the National District (TBS Distrito 2026). The biggest celebration of hoops and the ball in the Dominican capital enters its defining stage, where teams will seek their ticket to the grand final.
The action will take place at the Arena BanReservas Profesor Virgilio Travieso Soto, the official venue for this edition which celebrates its Golden Anniversary. Both brackets will be decided under a 5-3 format, while the final series is scheduled to be played as a best-of-7-4.
Opening calendar
- 7:00 p.m. (Semifinal B): Club Los Prados vs. Mauricio Báez.
- 9:00 p.m. (Semifinal A): Rafael Barias vs. Bameso.
The road to the semifinal
After an intense elimination phase, the Rafael Barias Club secured first place with a 10-3 record, followed by Los Prados (9-4), Mauricio Báez (8-5), and Bameso (7-6). The San Lázaro and Huellas del Siglo teams were left out of the competition after finishing the previous stage.
Regarding head-to-head matchups, Los Prados arrives with confidence after dominating their particular series against Mauricio Báez with a 2-0 record. For its part, the series between Rafael Barias and Bameso presents itself as one of the most even, after having split honors 1-1 during the regular season.
The 50th edition of the TBS Distrito is a historic milestone for our sport, celebrating five decades of passion, talent, and tradition in the capital.

The tournament, which is played for the BanReservas Cup, is supported by the company Seaboard Energía Limpia. The organization is in charge of the National District Basketball Association (Abadina), presided over by Edwin Castillo (Tatico), together with the Organizing Committee led by Andrés Bautista, Administrative Minister of the Presidency, and the technical management of commissioner Nelson Ramírez.
