Strengthening the hospital network and health services in the province of Samaná
Doctor Rafael de Jesús Rodríguez Cruz, regional director of the Cibao Nordeste Regional Health Service, conducted a supervisory visit to the municipality of Las Terrenas to verify the progress of the works aimed at optimizing health infrastructure throughout the province of Samaná.
During the tour, the official highlighted that these actions are part of a comprehensive plan promoted to raise the quality of medical care in the area, ensuring more efficient and modern facilities for citizens.
Infrastructure improvements and new centers
One of the key points of this intervention is the Pablo Antonio Paulino Municipal Hospital, which is undergoing a modernization process for its air conditioning system. The old infrastructure is being replaced by independent, high-efficiency, low-power consumption units, ensuring a suitable environment in all areas of the hospital center.
Similarly, the regional head shared details about the projects currently underway and the next steps in health planning:
- Progress on the renovation work at the Las Terrenas First Level Care Center.
- Official inauguration of the new Las Galeras Diagnostic Center, scheduled for this Saturday.
- Scheduling of the intervention and improvement of the Rincón de Las Galeras Polyclinic, projected for next year.
These interventions are the result of a sustained commitment to public health, ensuring that every municipality in Samaná has decent and functional facilities to meet the needs of our people.

The supervision day was also attended by Dr. Karen Núñez, Health Area Manager in Samaná, and Dr. Camilo Mejía, who highlighted the constant support received from central authorities to provide timely responses to the demands of the provincial health system.
