SeNaSa 2.0 Case: Coercive measure hearing continues against 25 defendants
Judicial attention in the National District remains focused on the SeNaSa 2.0 case. This Thursday, the hearing for the request of coercive measures against the 25 individuals involved in this process resumes, after Magistrate Rigoberto Sena, of the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services, ordered a recess in the previous session.
The suspension of the proceedings on Wednesday night was requested by the technical defense team, arguing the late hour and the transportation difficulties faced by several lawyers residing in the interior of the country. As detailed by lawyer Pedro Botello, the process is still at an early stage regarding the presentation of evidence.
75% is still missing for the defense, to present the budget.

Diversity of positions among the accused
During the first session, the court heard the statements of just over ten defendants. The dynamics of the hearing have revealed a divided landscape: while one group of the accused has opted to admit to the facts attributed to them by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, others have maintained a stance of total rejection of the accusations.
Lawyer Félix Porte indicated that, among those appearing, more than five have acknowledged their participation in the events. On the other hand, various defense attorneys pointed out that some of their clients claim to have no link to the criminal network under investigation, alleging they were included in the case file without clear grounds.
In this regard, lawyer Santos Liriano Mercado highlighted that several of those involved have expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Public Prosecutor’s Office. According to Liriano, the defendants have stated before the court their lack of knowledge regarding the magnitude of the irregular operations reported in the SeNaSa 2.0 case.
Expectation regarding the court’s decision
This Thursday’s session is decisive for the course of the proceedings. The court’s main objective is to complete the presentations of the remaining defenses, in order to subsequently evaluate the Public Prosecutor’s arguments and the evidence presented by the lawyers.
Outside the courthouse, family members and individuals linked to the case remain in anticipation of Magistrate Sena’s ruling. Alofoke Deportes will continue to follow this hearing, which represents one of the most relevant legal and public issues in the current national landscape.
