Ramón Tolentino defends a hardline approach against crime under the code 29 concept
In a recent intervention during the RD Debate program, communicator Ramón Tolentino expressed his position on citizen security and the response that authorities must execute against individuals linked to multiple criminal acts. Under the term he called code 29, Tolentino advocated for more forceful actions against those accused of serious criminal acts.
The debate focused on the complex relationship between the operational capacity of the National Police, the protection of victims’ rights, and respect for the constitutional guarantees of the accused. Tolentino was emphatic in pointing out that society is facing groups of antisocial individuals who, in his view, represent a constant threat and should not remain on the streets.

According to Tolentino, it is imperative that the authorities prioritize the safety of the citizenry above other interests, even questioning the stance of figures such as Manuel María Mercedes, president of the Human Rights Commission, by considering that greater emphasis should be placed on the well-being of the victims of crime.
