David Collado receives strong support from PRM leaders for 2028
The political landscape ahead of the 2028 presidential elections in the Dominican Republic is beginning to take clearer shape. Recently, a large group of influential leaders and key figures linked to the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) publicly announced their support for the presidential aspirations of David Collado, the current Minister of Tourism.
This endorsement marks a turning point in the internal structure of the ruling party, consolidating Collado’s figure as one of the leaders with the greatest political traction within the organization. Among the officials who have expressed their support for this project are Víctor Atallah, Julio Landrón, Mario Lama, Guillermo Lama, and Juan Manuel Méndez.
A consolidated support block
The meeting, which brought together a significant representation of legislators, municipal authorities, and political cadres, made evident the reach of the movement promoting Collado’s candidacy. Among the attendees who formalized their support are:
- Kelvin Cruz and Eduardo Sanz Lovatón.
- Alfredo Pacheco, Víctor D’Aza and Ulises Rodríguez.
- Jean Luis Rodríguez, Yadira Henríquez and Franklin García Fermín.
- Olmedo Caba, Alberto Atallah, Aníbal Díaz and Ángel de la Cruz.
- Enmanuel Bautista, Dio Astacio and Víctor Pichardo.
The strengthening of these internal alliances positions David Collado’s aspirations as a central axis in the national political debate, projecting them strongly toward the 2028 electoral contest.
The magnitude of this endorsement is supported by significant figures, totaling the support of 44 senators, 81 deputies, 92 municipal mayors, and 116 municipal district directors. With these new additions, Collado’s presidential project continues its expansion process, reaffirming its influence within the grassroots and the high leadership of the PRM.
