Oncoserv launches the “Prevention is Care” campaign for the fight against breast cancer

In the framework of the commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the comprehensive oncology center Oncoserv has launched the “Prevention is Care” initiative. The main purpose of this project is to promote timely detection and provide close support to Dominican women facing this disease.

The campaign, developed in conjunction with the Oncoserv Foundation, integrates a series of activities designed to impact patients, corporate collaborators, and communities, with the goal of turning medical check-ups into an essential health habit.

We want every woman to understand that prevention is an act of self-love and care for their loved ones. With “Prevenir es Cuidar” (Preventing is Caring), we seek to educate, accompany, and save lives, bringing information and resources to those who need them most.

Strategic actions during October

As part of its social commitment, Oncoserv has designed a calendar of special actions that will be carried out throughout the month of October:

  • Conducting free preventive talks at various companies and institutions to raise awareness about early detection.
  • Elimination of the copayment for mammograms throughout the entire month.
  • Exemption from copayments for radiotherapy services for patients diagnosed with breast cancer.
  • Informative sessions on the comprehensive approach and clinical management of the pathology.
  • Development of a media tour with medical specialists to bring the prevention message to every corner of the country.

Solidarity in motion: I Danced for You 2026

The social responsibility agenda includes the event called Zumbathon “I Dance for You 2026”. This day of physical activity seeks to combine well-being, joy, and solidarity, with the goal of raising funds to support patients going through financial difficulties during their treatment process.

Through this campaign, Oncoserv reaffirms its mission to save lives, urging the female population to stay informed, keep up with their annual check-ups, and seek medical consultation at any sign of alert in their body.
