Nio García suffers violent robbery at his residence in Guaynabo
Renowned urban artist Nio García was the victim of a violent robbery at his home last Wednesday night. The incident took place in the Gardenville urbanization, located in the municipality of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, causing great consternation in the music industry.
According to the official report, the incident was recorded at approximately 8:46 at night, at which time the performer, whose given name is Luis Antonio Quiñones García, was in the home with his wife. Three armed subjects with their faces covered broke into the property, surprising the couple in the living room area.
Assault details and material losses
During the criminal act, the individuals threatened those present. According to the authorities, one of the assailants physically assaulted the singer, striking him on the head with the butt of a firearm. After subduing the victims, the perpetrators proceeded to search the residence to steal high-value belongings.

After committing the robbery, the suspects fled the scene. Paramedic teams arrived at the location to provide medical assistance to Nio García for the wound sustained during the altercation.
Ongoing research
The case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Bayamón, the unit in charge of leading the inquiries to locate those responsible. Currently, investigators are working on collecting security camera footage from the area and surrounding sectors, in order to identify the perpetrators of the act and the vehicle used to flee the scene.
This event adds to a series of security incidents that have affected various figures of the urban genre on the island, keeping authorities on alert regarding these types of home-related crimes.
