Strengthening the Open and Active School program in the 03 Regional of Azua
The Regional Directorate of Education 03, based in Azua, held a training session aimed at directors and representatives of the committees of the new educational centers that will be integrated into the Open and Active School program. This initiative seeks to ensure efficient implementation and foster greater connection between schools and their community environment.
During the meeting, the participants delved into the work methodology, strategic objectives, and operational procedures necessary to launch the program. Likewise, the functions and responsibilities of the local teams were precisely defined, ensuring that each actor has clarity regarding their role in the development of the planned activities.
Collaboration between the school and the community is the fundamental pillar for educational centers to become spaces for learning, recreation, and integral growth for our students.

The program seeks to transform schools into integration centers where young people can use their free time constructively. To achieve these goals, the day featured the participation of key figures in the national execution of the project:
- Mónica Rodríguez, national technician and program liaison, who emphasized the importance of strategic planning and teamwork.
- Francisca de la Cruz, national coordinator of Open and Active School, who detailed the functioning of the involved entities and the execution protocols.
This preparation is vital for the newly selected centers to be ready to execute the actions contemplated during the 2026-2027 school year. With this effort, Regional 03 reaffirms its commitment to strengthening social infrastructure within educational institutions, allowing the positive impact of the program to reach a greater number of families in the Azua province.
