Two men captured for homicide and attempted murder in Santiago and Espaillat
The National Police, through its Homicide Investigation Division, confirmed the arrest of two individuals who were actively sought for their alleged involvement in violent crimes that occurred in the Cibao region. The operations, carried out in the provinces of Santiago and Espaillat, are part of the institution’s actions to comply with pending judicial orders.
Details of the arrests
The first of the detainees was identified as Yeudi Alberto Fernández Pérez, nicknamed “Yeo”, 22 years old. He faces charges of attempted homicide against Wilfry Rodríguez Almonte. According to the police report, the incident occurred on July 27, 2026, in the El Semillero sector, belonging to the Santiago Oeste municipal district, where the victim sustained gunshot wounds.
In a parallel action, agents managed to capture Juan Manuel Suárez Sánchez, known as “Willy”, 31 years old. This man had been wanted by the justice system since September 1, 2014, under a judicial warrant linked to the homicide of José Lucía Fernández Ureña. The event, which involved the use of a bladed weapon, took place in the municipality of Moca, Espaillat province.
Both cases are under a rigorous investigation process to clarify the motives behind these events and determine the criminal responsibilities of those involved before the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
