Tragedy in Monte Plata: Mother is detained following the death of her newborn son
A heartbreaking event has shocked the community of La Placeta, in the municipality of Peralvillo, Monte Plata province, where a woman was arrested on suspicion of being linked to the death of her son, a baby just 24 days old.
The discovery of the lifeless infant inside a home mobilized the area’s residents. According to the testimony of a citizen identified as Elisabeth, known in the community as “La Sierva,” the baby was located in alarming conditions. The witness recounted that, upon approaching the little one, she noticed that the body still retained warmth, but lacked vital signs or response to stimuli.
Reports of possible assaults
In statements made to communicator Estarling Mateo Félix, the witness “La Sierva” reported having observed various physical injuries on the newborn’s body. According to her account, the minor had visible bruises and blows in critical areas, including the head, arms, abdomen, and the genital area.
The statements issued by the witness are part of the initial stage of the investigation and must be rigorously validated by forensic experts and the Public Prosecutor’s Office to accurately determine the causes and circumstances surrounding this unfortunate death.
