Moca FC strengthens its squad with international talent for the 2026-2027 season

Moca FC has begun moving its pieces in the transfer market with the goal of being a protagonist in the upcoming 2026-2027 season of the Dominican Football League (LDF). Under the technical direction of Jean Carlos Guell, the team has confirmed the arrival of its first four foreign reinforcements, who will bring experience and quality to various areas of the field.

New faces on the team

The Moca club’s strategy has focused on the South American market, incorporating three Colombian footballers and one Argentine. The new signings are as follows:

  • Jhoaho Rivelino Hinestroza (Forward, Colombia): An attacker with a career at renowned clubs such as Once Caldas, Atlético Nacional, and América de Cali.
  • Éder Balanta Arévalo (Defensive Midfielder, Colombia): A player with stints at Atlético FC and Deportivo Pasto, responsible for providing balance in the midfield.
  • Kevin Saucedo (Center Back, Colombia): A defender with international experience at Real Monarchs (USA), Botafogo (Brazil), and various Colombian clubs such as Deportivo Cali. Saucedo has also been part of the Colombia U-20 National Team.
  • Jorge Gastón Comas (Midfielder, Argentina): A midfielder with experience in Argentine and Bolivian football, who also has the advantage of knowing the local game following his previous stint at Salcedo FC.

With these additions, Moca FC seeks to consolidate a competitive project to face a demanding season that will test the depth of its squad.

2026-2027 season format

The new LDF campaign will be developed under a format that guarantees more activity for the eight participating clubs. The season will be divided into two tournaments: Apertura and Clausura, each with its own regular phase and final playoffs.

The teams will play a round-robin system, accumulating a total of 14 matches per tournament. At the end of the regular season, the four best-positioned clubs will advance to the semifinals in search of the title.

  • Apertura Tournament: It will take place from August 21 to December 6, 2026.
  • Clausura Tournament: It is scheduled to be played between January 9 and April 17, 2027.

This schedule ensures that each team plays at least 28 matches throughout the season, a structure that, according to the Moca FC board, is fundamental to maintaining the competitive rhythm and continuity of professional soccer in the Dominican Republic.
