MIVED intervenes after devastating fire in Santiago that left five families homeless
The Villa Esperanza community, in Santiago, received an immediate response following the tragedy that left five families on the street after losing all their belongings in a voracious fire. The Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVED) has taken action to manage urgent housing solutions for those affected.
The incident, which occurred last Friday night, reduced to ashes the homes located behind La Esperanza school. Given the magnitude of the loss, the Minister of Housing, Luis Rodríguez, ordered the deployment of a technical commission to assess the damage and coordinate the reconstruction of the destroyed homes.
Immediate action by MIVED
Engineer Greenberg Mata, in charge of MIVED projects, traveled to the scene this Saturday to inspect the area and speak directly with those affected. Mata emphasized that the minister’s instruction was clear: to act with speed to provide assistance to the families going through this difficult situation.
He gave us instructions to come and carry out the survey immediately, to try to help those people in the face of this unfortunate event and find a solution for them as soon as possible.
