Ministry of Labor confirms that the August 16th holiday is non-transferable
The Ministry of Labor has issued an official statement addressed to the entire business sector and workers of the Dominican Republic, reminding them that next Sunday, August 16, the date on which the Restoration of the Republic is commemorated, is a non-transferable holiday.
Current regulations on Restoration Day
In accordance with the provisions of Law 139-97, which regulates the application of holidays in the country, this patriotic date is not subject to change. Therefore, the legal mandate requires that all establishments, both in the public and private sectors, comply with this provision throughout the national territory.
Return to work activities
Following the celebration of this significant historical date, the institution specified that productive and service activities must resume normally on Monday, August 17. This call seeks to maintain order and transparency in the fulfillment of work commitments within the official calendar of the Dominican Republic.
